recent projects

Kelowna mural - We're pleased to share the photos of our most recent project through BGIS  in Kelowna. It was a 40-foot-long and 4-foot-high mural that spanned a meeting room.

Honouring Land, Culture, and Connection

This mural reflects the deep ties between people, place, and the living history of the Syilx (Okanagan) territory. Set against the iconic backdrop of regional mountains and lake, the artwork features the Four Food Chiefs—Black Bear (sk̓̓əmx̌íst ), Bitterroot (sp̓iƛ̓m̓), Salmon (nty̓tyix), and Saskatoon Berry (síyaʔ)—central to Syilx teachings, governance, and traditional ecological knowledge. You will also find the mysterious na’ha‐a‐ikt (Ogopogo) and the ubiquitous yutəl̓x (Raven) represented.

At the heart of the image stand a man and a woman, representing balance, stewardship, and the intergenerational connection between past, present, and future. Their presence reminds us that all people have a role to play in nurturing respectful relationships with each other and with the land we call home.

David Fierro and Susheela Kundargi currently reside and create on Mayne Island (S,ḴŦAḴ), BC, bringing forward stories of healing, place-based knowledge, and cultural resurgence.

"We are honoured to share this artwork as a gesture of
reconciliation and celebration of Indigenous presence and wisdom."

land remediation
We are proud to partner with an array of visionary companies dedicated to holistic land management, soil health, sustainability, and ethical practices. Our collaborative network includes leaders in soil regeneration and fertilizer innovation, ensuring that our agricultural practices not only nurture the land but also restore its natural vitality.

By integrating cutting-edge techniques with time-honored principles, our partners help us create thriving ecosystems that support robust plant growth, enhance soil biodiversity, and sequester carbon, contributing to a healthier planet.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the soil. We work closely with industry pioneers in greenhouses, alternative energy, and water cleanup to build a comprehensive approach to environmental stewardship. Our greenhouse partners employ advanced technologies to maximize efficiency and reduce waste, while our alternative energy collaborators drive our transition to renewable power sources, reducing our carbon footprint and promoting energy independence.

Additionally, our water cleanup partners ensure that our practices protect and rejuvenate vital water resources, supporting both ecological balance and community health. Together, these partnerships embody our dedication to a sustainable future, where ethical practices and innovative solutions harmonize to foster a resilient and prosperous environment.

 organizations

Further to our current partnerships, we are eager to collaborate with organizations that prioritize the human component of sustainability and ethical practices. We seek alliances with educational institutions, non-profits, and community groups dedicated to building environmental awareness and stewardship.

Susheela currently sits on the boards of FarmFolk CityFolk and the Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council (Mayne Branch). David and Susheela actively participate in initiatives with The Gulf Islands Food Co-op, the Mayne Island Collective, the Mayne Island Agricultural Society, and other local groups.

By partnering with these organizations, we aim to enhance community engagement, support environmental education, and promote sustainable living practices. We are particularly interested in working with groups that focus on social equity in environmental initiatives, ensuring that the benefits of sustainability are accessible to all. Together, we create an inclusive and informed movement toward a healthier planet, where individuals and communities are empowered to take meaningful action.

We acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the stolen, ancestral and traditional territories of the Straits Salish peoples on the Island called S,ḴŦAḴ in SENĆOŦEN, the language of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.

The name "Tsi Tesakotitsén:tha” was given to us by a Tuscarora Elder who has known Susheela since 1986 in Kahnawake (Kanien’kehá:ka Mohawk territory) and suggested we create the space for “The Place That Heals You”. The Kanien'kehá:ka spelling was provided to us by a dear friend who still lives in Kahnawake. We are honoured to use the name and would also welcome a SENĆOŦEN translation of the name to respect the land we’re on and the language of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.
